Seoul 1996 - During the performance of "Earth Song," Jackson, (who was up on a cherry picker) was accosted by a male Korean fan who climbed up the crane just to meet Jackson. During the first broadcast, a scrolling bar of text was placed at the bottom of the screen informing viewers of the second broadcast. The concert broadcast twice, with the red ball appearing in different places in both broadcasts (which has allowed fans to re-edit the two broadcasts to remove this logo). A large, spinning Nessma TV logo occasionally rolled across the screen as a means of copyright protection. The broadcast ended at "Heal the World," cutting off the final number "HIStory." The quality of the broadcast was rather average as the entire concert was on a VHS and broadcast at a low bit rate. Before then, only parts of this concert were shown on television as well as a very poor quality amateur-filmed far from the stage. Tunis 1996 - This concert was aired on Septemby the Nessma TV channel in Tunisia. Parts of the songs were recording onto the JumboTron. The full concert is an amateur recording by a fan. This concert was televised by TELE 7 ABC.īudapest 1996 - This concert was the second concert of the tour. The crowd noises and some crowd footage is from the Dangerous Tour in Bucharest DVD, but the true origin of these sounds is unknown, as the Bucharest DVD did contain footage from Wembley, Madrid and several other concerts. The footage and audio for the "Remember The Time" Interlude was different from that shown at other concerts. ![]() "The Great Gates of Kiev" introduction was filmed off-screen onto the JumboTron, not a direct feed like the other concerts. wiki/HIStory_World_Tourīucharest 1996 - The first full televised concert and also the third concert of the tour. Here’s a list of the pro-shot shows available on YouTube if anyone’s interested. I can’t remember what specific changes were made to the production but I think if I remember correctly it was sponsored by MJ’s partnership -I can’t remember the name? and the tour only broke even. Yes! You’ve got to have BOTDF! I’d love to see the pro-shot version of Dublin and a soundboard audio also. And also agree that Gothenburg is one of the best shows. We’ve got to appreciate what what we have here for sure. I wish for one of the nights MJ had sang a few more songs live and it was captured on soundboard and film, but as you say, it is what it is. He really made himself available to everyone.īut I do really enjoy that Brunei 96 CD a lot. He also guested fans with disabilities to watch on the side of the stage and gave photo opps towards the end of the concert. ![]() ![]() Watching some of the shows at times he looks absolutely shattered from exhaustion on stage which is understandable. He put an awful lot of work into that entire era. When he could he also went outside the hotels to wave to and meet fans. Each time he landed in another city it was like a presidential visit meeting with dignitaries. And also wherever he could he’d visit hospitals, orphanages etc. Tons of short films, Ghosts, HIStory In The Mix, Interviews, 2 marriages, birth of his kids. He’d come back from a low point in his life and was more visually present than ever before MTV Awards, Brit Awards, WMA’s, Wetten Daz etc. I think with the tour we’ve got to understand a lot of things to put it into perspective he was dogged with poor health for the duration of this tour which was his biggest to date. And he was right over my head for Earth Song which took me awhile to get over the fact that I was that close to him. I let myself go and enjoyed that concert so much! It wasn’t his best but it was such a once in a lifetime experience just to see the man performing in front of my eyes. HIStory Tour?! Finally I got to see MJ! I really felt like I waited a lifetime at that point and I was going to enjoy it if it was good or not. I never got over not being able to see the Bad Tour as my mother couldn’t afford it so I obviously forgive her that, but standing outside listening was like torture but also the beginning of a lifelong obsession with that tour!ĭangerous Tour?! Don’t even get me started! Nobody to take me to Dublin to see the show! I sat in my bedroom at 8pm thinking “MJ will be coming on stage about now!” And probably cried my eyes out! 22:34:19 GMT aazzaabb said:I also love the Brunei 96 CD! Another one of Steve101’s leaks if I remember correctly? I agree with everything you say Nidge! I was in the pit near the front of the stage and felt all those things you did. ![]()
